Monday.com Migration
Monday.com Migration
Project Overview:
Project Description: This project involves migrating data from Monday.com to Microsoft CRM to improve reporting capabilities and establish a standardized sales environment. The migration aims to enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and analysis within the organization.
Why Microsoft Dynamics/CRM
-
Greenway Solar already has a Microsoft 365 account and infrastructure in place, the staff know how to use microsoft products and I believe that the learning curve will be alot easier for staff to understand it.
-
There are lot's of built in automations that are low/no-code through powerautomate.
-
Since it is in the Microsoft ecosystem, doing automated emails should be alot easier than using a different 3rd party tool.
Objectives:
-
Improve Reporting Capabilities:
- Enhance the organization's ability to generate customized reports and dashboards for better decision-making.
- Enable real-time tracking of sales performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).
-
Standardize Sales Environment:
- Create a unified sales environment within Microsoft CRM to streamline processes, ensuring consistency across teams.
- Implement standardized workflows and data entry practices for improved efficiency.
-
Enhance Data Accuracy:
- Ensure data integrity during migration by cleansing and validating data.
- Minimize data duplication and errors to improve the quality of customer information.
-
Increase Data Accessibility:
- Make customer data readily available to sales and customer service teams for improved customer engagement.
- Enable mobile access to CRM data for field sales representatives.
-
Facilitate Integration:
- Explore opportunities for integrating Microsoft CRM with other systems (e.g., email, marketing automation) to optimize data flow and efficiency.
Project Timeline:
I will caveat this, this can be adjusted by leaving monday in place and not migrating over existing data, the downside of this is that you will not be able to use historical data in forecasts and reporting.

Budget
- Estimated upper limit for data migration: £12,000 (This assumes work being done everyday).
- Running Microsoft Dynamics pricing: £57.50 per user per month. GW Solar minimum 4 users.
- 1st Year
£14,750. - 2nd Year
£2760.
Considerations
- Timeline subject to change due to holiday and or unforseable issues.
- Timeline potentially can be made faster by running certain phases in parallel.
- I have added significant padding around certain tasks for contingency.
Conclusion
The initial development and migration costs may appear substantial, but they constitute a one-time investment. With Microsoft CRM's user-friendly interface, ongoing maintenance can be efficiently handled internally. This expenditure represents an investment in a more effective and sustainable sales environment, poised to deliver substantial long-term benefits.
In summary, this transition from Monday.com to Microsoft CRM offers a comprehensive solution that addresses the limitations in reporting and overall sales functionality. It holds the potential to revolutionize both outbound and inbound sales functions in the long term. Even without integrating other components, adopting a dedicated CRM could lead to immediate enhancements in business workflows and sales efficiency through improved governance and long-term reporting.
